Blackhawks are Boss!

That's right Philadelphia, eat nasty defeat! The best team won, with the best heart. Thank you Rocky Wirtz, for giving a name to the Blackhawks, after 49 years without a championship because of the poor ownership of Sr. Wirtz. That's right non-believers! The Blackhawks own! Cha town baby! Anything is possible! That's right! I'm pretty sure that pure silver taste pretty good to kiss! In an intense overtime game, Chicago was able to hold on and break in Game 6 in Philadelphia. The final score, 4-3. Antti Niemi, was unstoppable, saving anything coming his way as in my opinion, one of the best goalies in the sport of hockey. Patrick Kane scored the final goal barely, to clench the Stanley Cup. The MVP of the Blackhawks, was the 22 year old, Jonathan Toews.
And as a Chicago man myself, I am proud to say, that the 2010, Stanley Cup Champions, are the Chicago Blackhawks! They'll sleep good tonight! Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and till next time, remember, always stay Inbounds!

Tiger is not the face anymore

Have you noticed lately, how none of the golf commercials, involve Tiger Woods anymore! No? That's because no one cares anymore! There are plenty other good golfers, no one pays attention to, just because Tiger started early, he was the only face for golf! Guess what Tiger, no one wants to be the sports hero anymore, thanks to you, and people like Ben Rothlisburger, Magic Johnson, and OJ! Yeah, you guys screwed that up. Oh, and Tiger, I love it how you asked Nike to give you a logo, and then your little flaky friend Roger Federer, asked for his own logo, cause you two are so "all that". So, thanks to you, the amazing sport of tennis has now become a "mine is bigger than your's" fest. Tiger, you are amazing. No, your not a bad person at all.

March Madness 2010 Highlights

I'm back! here are the highlights for yesterday and today, in the quarterfinals.
Yesterday, In the afternoon, Butler, was able to knock down #2 Kansas St. in an excellent game, 63-56.
And the main attraction, was the game between #1 Kentucky, and #2 West Virginia, where West Virginia dominated the whole game, especially behind the arc! West Virginia won 73-66.
Today, earlier this afternoon, Michigan St. kept Tennessee from an upset, winning by one, 70-69.
And finally, right now, #1 Duke, is struggling against #3 Baylor, barely winning 64-61. Three minutes of regulation left.
CBS is not currently live on that game right now.

Yesterday's March Madness Highlights

Yesterday did not contain nearly as many upsets as the previous days, as there were only three upsets: #12 Cornell over #4 Wisconsin. Cornell happilly took the win over the prestiegous wisconsin Badgers, 87-69. Cornell has upset both of the teams that they've played, the first team they devastated, was #5 Temple, Cornell winning 78-65 in a good game. Now Cornell, is in the sweet 16, waiting to take on #1 Kentucky, who I have winning the whole thing! Sorry Cornell, but your Cinderella story is over!
In the other games, #1 Syracuse took out another of my final four teams, Gonzaga, 87-65, in a not so close game. #5 Michigan St. beat #4 Maryland, by 2, 85-83. And #6 Xavier took out #3 Pittsburg, in overtime, 71-68.
I have to go, i'll give you the rest of the highlights later!

tonight's march madness highlights

I'll start out with the game that messed my draw up, and probably everyone else's to. The Kansas vs. Northern Iowa game.
Northern Iowa, was winning the game by a decent amount throughout the whole game, but it was closer in the end. But, the deciding moment, was when Ali Farokhmanesh made the three pointer, to get a bigger lead. Northern Iowa won in the end 69-67.
Another big upset, was the New Mexico Lobos losing to the #11 Washington Huskies, in a semi-wipeout, 82-64. And #2 Villanova lost to #10 Saint Mary's, by seven, 75-68, in a close game.
Just recently, BYU was unable to hold onto an early 12-0 lead over Kansas state, eventually losing by 12, 84-72.
#6 Tennessee showed #14 Ohio how to win, the right way, winning 83-68 in favor of the Volunteers.
In another wipeout, #9 Wake Forest, after upsetting #8 Texas, in the first round, was wiped out of the tournament, losing 90-60 to the one and only, #1 Kentucky. Butler, played against Murray State, where State lost by two, 54-52.
And last but not least, Old Dominion was unable to hold on to their hot streak, after upsetting Notre Dame, lost to #3 Baylor, who cut them down to size, 76-68. So, Baylor, Northern Iowa, Butler, Washington, Tennessee, Saint Mary's, Kentucky, and Kansas State are now in the third round.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

March Madness 2010

And March Madness has begun!
Tonight, so far, it has for the most part been a night of upsets!
I'll start with the game that everyone will be talking about: Ohio taking out the #3 Georgetown, first time that a number three seed has been taken out since 2006. Even I didn't put this upset down in my draw. The final score, wasn't so close, Ohio winning, 97-83. Another even more interesting game that finished lately, was the Washington vs. Marquette game. The lead was constantly changing over and over, but in the end, Washington took the last minute shot leaving 1.7 seconds on the clock for Marquette to take a half-court shot, only to miss it off the backboard. Another tight game, was the Northern Iowa vs UNLV, where it ended by three in the end, taking a last minute three, UNLV, devestated. And also today, another upset, was when number 10 Saint Mary's, defeated number 7 Richmond, 80-71, in a good quality game.
In an overtime game, #2 Villanova had a tough time holding on to a first round win, but pulled it off, 73-70 over #15 Robert Morris. And earlier today, another upset was #4 Vanderbilt losing to #13 Murray St. It was still a very close game, Murray barely winning, 66-65. And the last major upset, also earlier today, was #6 Notre Dame losing the first round by one, 61-60, to Old Dominion.
Those were the main games completed, and right now, the games to watch, are the New Mexico Lobos, vs the Montana Grizzlies where New Mexico is up by eight after trailing by one at the half, and the Tennessee Volunteers, vs. the San Diego St. Aztecs where the Aztecs are down by one at 54-55.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

Tonight's sports highlights

I'm still trying to get a draw onto the website, for March Madness, but I have had some trouble so far. I have already done my draw, have you done yours?!
Anyway, now on to the pros.
In the NBA, the Charlotte Bobcats were hoping to upset the Pacers in Indiana, but not everyone can get their wishes.
The game was close, but the Pacers had nothing to lose, winning in the end, 99-94. The Miami Heat were fortunate enough, to get a home game against the San Antonio Spurs, but luck didn't seem to pay off in the end. The Spurs won in a low scoring game of 88-76. The Atlanta Hawks, played the 7-60 New York Nets, in New York, where a not too surprising win went to the Hawks, 108-84. The Cleveland Cavaliers, added to the list of away wins, beating the Detroit Pistons, 113-101. And finally, just now, the Memphis Grizzlies did hold on at home, beating the Chicago Bulls 104-97. Kings up by three over the Lakers,Suns up by eight, over the Timberwolves, and the Nuggets up by 6, over the Wizards in the third.
And now over to pro Hockey.
The Phoenix Coyotes, beet the Tampa Bay Lightning, 2-1. The Atlanta Thrashers, beet the Buffalo Sabres, 4-3 in a tight, interesting game. The Washington Capitals creamed the Florida Panthers, 7-3. The Colorado Avalanche, beet the St. Louis Blues, 5-3, in an average, game. Those were the main games in hockey completed, and now, the main game unfinished, is the Dallas Stars, vs the San Jose Sharks, where the Stars are up 8-2, in an unexpected wipeout.
That's it for tonight.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

Tonights Highlights

First off, tonight, the March Madness draws are out, for mens college basketball, with the number one seeds being, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, and Duke. I'll try and post a draw sheet for you guys to look at, but please do post who your final four picks are and who your champion this year is!
Now over to the NBA, where there were a bunch of big Sunday games!
I'll start with the the Boston Celtics, at the Cleveland Cavaliers, where for the most part it was a pretty good game, but eventually, the cavs had to prove who was best, coming out on top, 104-93. The Utah Jazz also faced off in Oklahoma City, against the Thunder, both with nearly equal winning records. The Jazz brought on a hard fought game, but the Thunder were just too good, coming out the victors, in a high scoring game, of 119-111. Another good game, was the Miami Heat, (at home) vs. the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers weren't able to do much, eventually losing, 104-91. The Indiana Pacers took on the Bucks in Milwaukee, keeping it close, but losing by four as the outcome, 98-94. And finally, the Orlando Magic were feeling pretty good at home, against the 34-31 Charlotte bobcats, only to get upset 96-89 by the Cats.
And in the NHL, an overall, interesting day, with one overtime game, and one shoot-out game.
In the shoot-out , it was the Phoenix Coyotes taking a win from the Atlanta Thrashers, 3-2 in a tough game. In the overtime matchup, it was the Washington Capitols victorious, over the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-3. this was truly, the game of the night, and the won to watch! Also tonight, the Nashville Predators, upset the LA Kings, 3-2, in another great matchup. The Kings, now 40-23-5. A slightly less interesting game, but still good to watch, was the Minnesota Wild vs the St.Louis Blues, with the Wild coming out with a 4-2 victory. The Toronto Maple Leaves, had a devastating loss to the New York Islanders, 4-1, in an all around wipeout. The Pittsburg Penguins, defeated the struggling Tampa Bay Lightning, 2-1 in a lower scoring game. And the new York Rangers were able hold onto a winning record, of 31-29, taking out the Philadelphia Flyers, 3-1, with the New Yorkers. And last but not least, the Colorado Avalanche succeeded in the highest scoring game of the night, winning 5-3 over the Dallas Stars.
Alright, I've gotta go, so remember to do your draw sheets!
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

2010 Final Vancouver Olympic day

Once again, I'm truly sorry that I have been unable to give you highlight's over the last few days, but once again I've been busy.

Today, as you probably know, today is the day, that the much anticipated match up of the home team, Canada, faced off against the strong American team, in men's hockey final.
Last time, America was able to upset Canada and celebrate, to get into the quarters, but this time, Canada, was just unstoppable.
The game went through with Canada keeping the lead for almost all of the game, until America was able to score a quick goal within the last 30 seconds of the game.
But in overtime, it was Sydney Crosby of Canada who took the final shot right in-between the legs of America's goalie, to end the game 3-2 in favor of Canada.
And this time, it was Canada's national anthem being sung, all the Canadian players, wearing gold medals around their necks.
America, of course took silver.
This was the last of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
And right now, in case you haven't heard, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Closing Ceromony, is still taking place right now on NBC.
Tune in now if you can.
In 2010, the Winter Olympics will belong to Sochi Russia, where hopefully, Russia will do better.
Now that the Olympics are done, everything will go back to normal, as I will be giving my regular highlights, on basketball, tennis, golf, hockey, baseball, and football (obviously not the football season now).
Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/23/10

So, yesterday, was the beginning of the womon's side of individual Figure Skating, where the main person who caught everyone's eye, was Canadian Joannie Rochette, who's mother just recently died, of an unexpected Heart Attack.
Rochette finished last night in 3rd place, behind Japanese Mao Asada in 2nd, and Korean Kim Yu-Na in first.
Rochette ended her performance, crying and mouthing "Mom I wish you were here".
I think everyone, will be rooting for Joannie.

And, in the women's Biathlon, Russia took gold with Olga Pyleva, and Olga Zaitseva and company taking gold France was able to take silver, and Germany was able to take bronze, increasing their medal count even more, to catch up to the USA.

In men's alpine skiing, unfortunately, Bode Miller of the United States, was unable to take a medal, due to the fact he came off track.
So, the gold ended up going to Switzerland's Carlo Janka, and Norway took silver and bronze. Bronze going to the accomplished Aksel Lund Svindal (you know, the one with the crying, emotional father), and silver, going to Kjetil Jansrud.

And last but not least, Canada, was able to come back from a devestating loss to the USA in men's Ice Hockey, defeating Germany 8-2, to get to the quarterfinal's, along with the USA.

Those are yesterday's main highlight's, I'll give you, once again, today's tommorow.

Thanks, signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember always stay inbounds!

Yesterday's 2010 Vancouver Olympic Highlights

In men's curling yesterday, USA lost in an unfortunate game to China, 11-5, and USA lost to also, Canada 7-2.

The Ice Dancing Figure Skating final round, ended yesterday, with Canadian pair Scott Moir, and Tessa Virtue taking gold by nearly 6 points, allowing USA's very own Meryl Davis, and Charlie White to take silver.
And then, the Russian pair of Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin, (known for their controversial outfits) took bronze.
USA's pair of Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agusto, just fell short of bronze.

Canada and USA came away with wins in women's Ice Hockey, Canada, defeating Finland by 5, and USA defeating Sweden, by 8 points.

Those are the main highlights for yesterday.
And I'll give you today's highlightss, tomorrow.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Today's highlight's.

Alright, because I want to watch all of the main Olympic sports right now, I'll give you the highlight's of today later tomorrow.

Thank you very much for reading.
I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/21/10

Alright, I'm back.
Unfortunately, I've been unable to comment on the Olympics the last few days.

But, incase you haven't heard already, the highlights of yesterday, included action from Bode Miller, and the US men's hockey team.

So, the highlights, were for the most part yesterday, where American Bode Miller, who's just come back from an injury from last Olympics in Toreno, happily took gold in the men's Super G skiing, Miller now having one of each medal in Vancouver.
Siver went to Ivica Kostelic of Croatia, and Bronze went to Switzerland's Silvan Zurbriggen.

And, the other big highlight of yesterday, was the much anticipated, men's hockey match, between USA and Canada.
For the most part, Canada, was favored to win, but the American's truly upped their game to match, and even better the talent of the Canadian team, eventually pulling out a win, 5-3 in favor of the American's.
Also in hockey, Russia defeated the Czech Republic, 4-2, and Belarus defeated Germany, 5-3.

Those, were the highlight's for yesterday.

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/18/10

Unfortunately, I was unable to comment on the Olympics yesterday, so I'll give you some of the main highlights of yesterday's events.

In the men's single free skate, it was supposed to be one of the most epic face offs in men's skating history, due to the rising, American Evan Lysacek, and the famous Russian coming out of retirement, Evgeni Plushenko, claiming his goal to become like Dick Button, with two Olympic gold medals.
And yesterday, the suspense was ended.
Evan Lysacek came away with the gold by about two points, allowing Evgeni Plushenko, to take the silver, along with japan's Daisuke Takahashi taking bronze.
Plushenko, commented, saying that a person that takes gold, should't, with out a quad jump.

And, in women's super g, America's Lindsey Vonn, took an unfortunate crash, to keep her far away from the podium.
This gave the gold to German Maria Riesch, Silver to fellow American Julia Mancuso, and bronze barely to Swedish Anja Paerson.

Vancouver Half-Piipe run 2

Run 2, was filled with falls, and bobbles, giving low scores for the most part, except for some, such asAmerica's Sean White, and Finland's Peetu Piiroinen.
Piiroinen, scored about four points higher than in run two, giving him the silver medal.
USA's Scott Lago, was among the many that fell on the second run, but still managed bronze.
And of course, the Gold medal, went to Shaun White, who celebrated like crazy, after he realized, gold was his.
Included in this celebration, Shaun just played it wild, and tricky in his second run, because he had already won. And in this second run, Shaun, brought up the famous double McTwist, and nailing it perfectly.
Everyone, was chanting "USA, USA" in celebration.

Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

Vancouver Half-Pipe short program

In run 1, a very strong beginning for the American's, taking 1st, and 2nd, and 1st, is of course under no other, than defending gold medalist, Shaun White, with a whipping score of 46.8 points, but, this is only run one. 2nd, is belonging to Scott Lago, with a score of 42.8.
Third, is Switzerland's Iouri Podladtchikov, with a score of 42.4.
I'll give you run two's updates in a few minutes.

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/17/10

Today, I'll start, in men's 1000m speedskating, which just ended, where one of the best there is, American Shani Davis took gold, celebrating very happily afterward. Silver went to Korea's Mo Tae-Bum, and bronze went to fellow American Chad Hedrick.

In men's ice hockey, not all events have comepleted, but some have finished.
Finland took out Belarus, 5-1 in the preliminary round and Russia beat Latvia 8-2. Currently, Germany is losing to Sweden 2-0.
In women's ice hockey,Canada beat Sweden in the preliminary round, 13-1, and Slevakia is scheduled to play Switzerland at 10 pm.

And in men's curling, China creamed Denmark, 8-1, Great Britain defeated France 9-4, Sweden beat out Germany 6-3 in a satisfying win, and Switzerland knocked out USA barely, in a 7-6 victory.
On the women's side, not all games have begun, as there are three more rounds scheduled for 10 pm.
But here are the games finished. Great Britain beat out China by one, 5-4, Germany, defeated the USA, also by one, 6-5, home favorite Canada took out Japan, 7-6, and finally, Sweden, showed Switzerland how to win, in an 8-7 win.

And last, but certainly not least, in women's downhill skiing, the talk has been all about American Lindsey Vonn, and her injured shin, but in the outcome of this event, that didn't seem to effect her, as she barely won gold crossing the finish line on one ski, by a few tenths of a second, where fellow American Julia Mancuso took silver, and Austrian Elisabeth Goergl took bronze.

Shaun White, took 1st to the final round,in the half-pipe (snowboarding) and that round will begin soon. I will give you those highlights in a few minutes.

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/15/10

Yesterday, there was only one event I didn't cover, as I had logged off before it ended.
This event, was the pairs skating.
This event had so much, relying on everyone.
For example, the russian pair of Yuko Kawaguchi, and Alexander Smirnov, was trying to continue a what seemed to be a never ending winning streek by the Russians. The russians were trying so hard to keep that streek, they brought in Yuko, who was originally from China, but became a citizen of Russia to become a member of the team.
Unfortunately, this pair din't get a medal, as they barely placed fourth, losing to a one-two punch by the Chinese, taking silver and gold. Gold went to Zhao Hongbo, and Shen Xue, and silver went to Pang Qing, and Tong Jian, whereas bronze went to german couple Robin Szolkowy and Aliona Savchenko.
Canada and USA were nowhere to be seen, as they placed as high as 6th (Canada) and 10th (USA).

Now over to today's events.
I'll start with the big event, still going on now... Men's single figure skating.
Right now, the Russian who has just come out of retirement, Evgeni Plushenko, is in first, by a short score, just shy of his personal best, 90.85, which is in the lead by 0.60 points, in-front of Japan's Daisuke Takahashi.

In Curling, in both women's and men's , USA lost, and Canada won by one, where USA lost by two in both, to, in the women's, Japan, 9-7, and in men's, to Germany 7-5, where Canada, in the women's, won 5-4, over Switzerland, and in men's, won 7-6 over Norway.

And in the women's luge, Germany took most of the top spots, taking gold and bronz, where Austria took silver.
Gold went to Tatjana Huefner, silver went to Nina Reithmeyer, and bronze went to Natalie Geisenburg.

And in men's ice hockey, USA beat Switzerland 3-1, and Canada is currently beating Norway 5-0.
In women's, USA once again won, 13-0 over Russia.

And in the men's 12.5km biatholon, it was Sweden's Bjorn Ferry who took gold by 24 seconds, where silver went to Austria's Christoph Sumann, and bronze wint to Vincent Jay of France.

And finally, in women's snowboarding, Canada won another gold medal on home soil, with Maelle Ricker taking it, silver went to France's Deborah Anthonioz, and bronze went to Switzerland's Olivia Nobs.

Alright, I'll stop there for tonight, till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

Basketball

Alright,so, because of the fact that the Olympics are on, I haven't payed much attention to basketball.
So, I'll start now.
Yesterday, was a for the most part predictable day, other than two games.
The Georgetown at Rutgers, and Louiville at number 3 Syracuse.
Georgetown was expected to cream Rutgers badly, but the three pointers on the Rutgers side showed otherwise, as various players knocked down plenty of them, to eventually get to the refreshing upset, 71-68 in favor of the Rutgers.
And on the other side, Louisville had a big upset over Syracuse, by 6 points, to end the game at 66-60 in favor of Louisville.

The only other game with a seed involved, would be the number 16 Ohio St at Illinois game, where no upset was involved, instead, an expected wipeout in favor of Ohio St. The final score was 72-53 by the Buckeyes.

Now over to today's games.
On the seeded side, #1 Kansas faced off against #23 ranked Texas A&M. This game was close, but in the end it was Kansas who prevailed over A&M in a low scoring game, 59-54 in favor of Kansas.
Unseeded Connecticut faced against number 3 ranked Villanova.
This game was a somewhat high scoring game, that ended in a nine point loss for Villavova, as Connecticut took on an upset almost as big as the size of Texas. The final score was 84-75 in favor of Connecticut.
There was only one overtime game on the night, which was Jackson St at Texas Southern, where it ended in a three point game in favor of Jackson St. Another upset on the night.
Final score, 70-67 in favor of Jackson St.
Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds.

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/15/10

With USA leading the medal count by four medals over France, let's see who we owe thanks to for the lead.

USA's Seth Wescott was able to take gold for the second year straight, after not looking to strong in the qualification round, struggling in the same place in both run one and run two, but was able to pull it together in the round of 32.
Silver went to Canada's Mike Robertson, and bronze went to France's Tony Ramoin. But this was only race one.

And in men's speedskating, not much success on the USA's part, as third went to Joji Kato of Japan, and second went to Mo Tae-Burn of Korea, and first belonged to Mika Poutala of Finland.

In womens hockey, Canada dominated Switzerland 10-1 in their favor.

In the Women's run 1 luge, Austria took the top spot, with Germany right behind in second and third.
First went to Nina Reithmayer. Second went to Natalie Geisenburg, and third went to Tatjana Huefner.

Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/15/10

First, I'll start off with the big story.
After a few days of dreaded delays due to slush, Bode Miller was finally able to ski, and did in-fact have a good outcome, as he took bronze, with a sigh of relief and happiness as Miller crossed the finish line!
Silver went to Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal, and the gold went to Swiss Didler Defago. Great for Bode Miller.

And in the qualification to the round of 32 round for men's snowboarding, filled with falls and stumbles, ended with Australian Alex Pullin taking the top spot, France's Xavier Delerue took second, and Canada's own Mike Robertson took third.

And in women's cross country skiing, Sweden was the one taking the gold, with Charlotte Kalla, silver came behind by about two seonds, with Estonian native Kristina Smigun, and the bronze went to Norway's Marit Bjorgen.

And in men's cross country skiing, Switzerland's Dario Cologna took the gold, Italy's Pietro Piller Cottrer got silver, and Lukas Bauer of the Czech got bronze.

More updates, later on!

2010 Vancouver Olympics 2/14/10

Alright, so with yesterday's events completed, here are your highlights.
In paires figure skating, Chinese pair Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo left the ice with a smile on their face, taking first to end the day with a final score of 76.66.
Second and third fall close behind, as Germans Robin Szolkowy, and Aliona Savchenko clenh second for the day, and the Russian couple of Yuko Kawaguchi and Alexander Smirnov take third, at about two points below first.
USA taking the tenth spot, and Canada taking the 6th spot.

Now over Men's normal hill nordic, where America did get a meddle with Johnny Spillane, who clenched silver, and was four tenths of a second away from gold, where Frenchman Jason Lamy Chappuis took it away. Bronze went to Italian Alessandro Pittin.

Now over in Women's speedskating where Martina Sablikova of the Czech took gold by about two seconds, giving silver to Stephanie Beckert of Germany, who beat out Canadian Kristina Groves for bronze by 22 hundredths of a second.

But the true highlight of the night, was the first win of gold by a Canadian at home.
This was accomplished by Alexandre Bilodeau. The celebration was immense and Bilodeau immediately hugged and thanked his brother.
Silver wint to an extremely upset Dale Begg-Smith of Australia, and silver went to our very own American Bryon Wilson.

I will give you some of todays highlights later on!
Till then, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!

Just recently, the world famous American Apolo Ohno gained a silver medal in the men's speedskating 1500 m where he lost the gold toKorean, Lee Jung-Su, and allowed the bronze to fellow American John Celski.

The final for the women's ice hockey was 18-0 in favor of Canada over Slavakia.

And finally, just now, women's freestyle skiing finished, where the first gold for the USA was won by Hannah Kearney, with Canada's Jennifer Heil coming in a close second.
And so the gold goes to Hannah Kearney, the silver goes to Jennifer Heil, and the bronze goes to American, Shannon Bahrke.

America, is now officially in the lead with the most medals, and the highest ranked medals. But the night is still young.

Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!
Alright, so in another round of Olympic action today, the competition is heating up.
I'll start with the men's short-track Speedskating. This is a 1500 m race, where skaters can show there fast explosiveness on the track.
Where so far in the over all placing, first place went to Korean, Lee Jung-Su, second place went to American, John Celski and third went to the Italian Nicola Rodigari.
Over, to women's side of speed skating, where the over all placing is not complete, as there are plenty of heats that haven't started yet.

And in women's hockey, it is a true wipe-out, where the favored Canada, is facing off against Slavakia. The current score is 10-0 and it's not even over.

And finally, over in women's freestyle skiing qualification round, USA and Canada take up the 7 of the top ten spots, including the top four.
First went to USA's Hannah Kearney, second went to Jennifer Heil of Canada, and third went to Heather McPhie of USA.

Today after yesterday's death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili, the race for medals began.
On the women's side in the 7.5 km sprint biathalon. After the long back and forth battle for a medal, it ended with the gold going to Anastasia Kuzmina of Czech, the silver going to Magdalena Neuner of Germany, and the bronze going to Marie Dorin of France.

And in Ski Jumping, over on the mens side on normal hill, the gold went to Simon Ammann of Switzerland , the silver went to Adam Malysz of Poland, and the bronze went to Gregor Shlierenzauer of Austria.

In Women's Ice hockey, only one game, and it was in the preliminary round. It was Sweden VS. Switzerland. Sweden came out on top in an overwhelming victory of 3-0 on top.

And finally, in the men's 5000 m speed skating, tears were brought to the gold medalist's Sven Kramer of Netherlands as he climbed up to his family happily as he won in a nail-biter, with the silver medal going to Korean Seung-Hoon Lee, and the bronze going to Ivan Skobrev.

That's all the highlights I have for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and I will hopefully see you at 8:00 pm eastern for more highlights on the 2010 winter olympics

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Tomorrow, February 12, 2010, the Winter olympics, will take place, starting with normal hill, Ski Jumping qualifications, at 1:00 pm eastern time.
This will only be the beginning, as in the future days, there will be ice skating, snow boarding, skiing, curling, ice hockey and speed skating.
But, there is still one problem. It will not snow in Vancouver.
It will only rain. So, they will have to import snow from other countries, which will be dangerous for the athletes, as slushy snow, will most likely cause injuries.
Till tomorrow, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds.

In the 2010 Super Bowl 44, the Super Bowl MVP, was Drew Brees, who was one of the many players holding their children, and crying.
The Saints, just couldn't be stopped.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds.

Sunday, February 7, 2010

And in the final quarter, the Saints just took over on offense, and defense.
The one and only Jeremy Shockey took in another Saints touchdown to put New Orleans on top by five. Which of course brought up the two point conversion, which was at first ruled incomplete, but after a New Orleans challenge, gets overruled to make it a seven point game.
And then later on, the first interception of the night, and at the perfect time for the Saints, bringing up a 74 yard interception return by Tracy Porter.
This made it a 14 point game.
And it would stay like that, in a first ever New Orleans Super Bowl win, 31-17.
Who Dat Nation, prevails.
And in the third quarter, the Saints started the second half with an on-side kick, which they recovered, to turn into a touchdown drive. Saints once again dominating the quarter, but a little closer, as the Saints get three more points on the board after the touchdown, to a Colt's 7. The touchdown belonged to rookie Pierre Garcon. And of course, the kick belonging to Garrett Hartley, being the first Super Bowl kicker with three field goals over 40 yards.
On the colts side, the touchdown belonged to a run from Joseph Adai.
the quarter once again ended in favor of Colts, 17-16.

In the second quarter, the Saints took over on offense.
But, the offense, was still only able to convert two field goals using the man who saved the game last time against the Minnesota Vikings: Garrett Hartley.
The half would end in favor of the Colts 10-6.

Super Bowl 44 is under way, with the Indianapolis Colts taking on the New Orleans Saints here in Miami.
In the first quarter, the New Orleans Saints were not able to do anything on their first drive, whereas the Colts did do a nice job on their first drive, but only to Knock in a field goal using the oldest player in Super Bowl history: Matt Stover.
Then, not to far later, the Colts show another strong drive, and this time getting the first touchdown of the night throwing the ball right to Pier Garcon's capable Rookie hands.
Colts up 10-0.

What's up.
As you probably realize, it's time for the 2010 Super Bowl.
One of the nation's biggest sports events will take place in 7 and a half hours.
Right here in Miami too!
The New Orleans Saints will take on the nearly unstoppable Indianapolis Colts.

Well, in the mean time, let me give you some other sports highlights.
Last night, Lebron James able to hold an outstanding game in Cleveland with a Cavalier record of 34 points in a half, to end the first half with over 70 points agains the New York Knicks. Still a slightly more relaxed second half. The Cavs come out on top in a 113-106 game.

In college basketball, the big game was Michigan State @ the Fighting Illini.
Michigan State had to go through the game without one of the top players on the team, Kalin Lucas.
And unfortunately the Illini were just to good on the night, ending the game in their favor, 78-73.
Till later, I'm Sportsmaster JR.
And remember, always stay inbounds!

Friday, February 5, 2010

This game wasn't a wipe out, but still another win at home for Portland.

The leading scorer was Aldridge of the Blazers.

This is another pair with strong winning records. This game starts at 8:00 pm eastern.
And last but not least, the Miami Heat @ the Boston Celtics. This game will occur at 8:00 pm eastern. Tune in to ESPN if you can.
There are games going on right now, such as the Los Angeles Clippers @ the Atlanta Hawks. This score is currently 23-19 at the end of the first quarter, where the Clippers are trying to shock the intense crowd in Georgia.
Also going on right now, the Chicago Bulls are losing in a close game against the 76ers in Philadelphia 25-21, but the game is still close and the night is young, as the game moves on in the second quarter.
And finally, the New York Nets are having the worst possible season, but maybe not the worst game over in Toronto against the strong Raptors. The score is now 32-28in favor of the underdogs.

Now on to the NFL.
The game every one is waiting for, is only four days away.
So, I'll give you my key play-makers, and key game plans.
On the Colts side, they need to begin to get Reggie Wayne and Joseph Adai into the game more.
Early in the game, the Colts need to run the ball a lot, and get the Saints defense tired for when the Colts begin to use Payton's slinger using players like Pier Garcon, Dallas Clark, Austin Collie, and of course the vet, Reggie Wayne.
On the Defensive side, the Colts need to dial up blitzes early on, as well as mixing it up with double teaming the wides.
Now for the Saints.
The saints need to see what the colts do with their defense early on, adjust, and take advantage of the blitzing by gunning it down the sideline to their fast wides. The saints also need to take advantage of Dwight Freeney. He's been injured but cleared to play in the big game, and is usually the big defensive player, but because of his injury, he may be vulnerable for his lack of hard intense practice.
Also on offense, mix it up with some screen-plays down the sideline.
On the defense, the Saints also need to dial up on blitzing, but only in in the beginning, and then in the second half, begin double team the wides, forcing them to run the ball more often than used to.
Of course, the key play-maker for the Saints will be the one and only, Reggie Bush.
This is my analysis for the Super Bowl.
Tune in to CBS on Sunday February 7th at 6:25 eastern time for the New Orleans Saints Vs the Indianapolis Colts for the big-time showdown in the Super Bowl.
Till later, signing off, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds.

Lastnight in the NBA, the Cavaliers showed the Grizzlies who's boss, in a beatdown of 105-89.
Cavs were favoured to win, but Lebron James regardless walked away smiling!
Also last night, Rockets at home, were also able to dominate, 119-97, also a very good win to extend their strong at home record.
And last but not least, the Atlanta Hawks stirred up a close game in Oklahoma, but were still unable to put out the thunder. The score was 106-99. Both teams with winning records.
Till later, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds.

Also tonight, the Las Angeles Clippers take on the barely hanging on Chicago Bulls at 8:00 pm eastern, but the bulls with the slightly better record.
And the earliest of the best games, will be the Memphis Grizzlies @ the sharp-shooting Cleveland Cavaliers, with an overwhelmingly strong home record.
Both teams, with winning record, this game will absolutely be a tight one.

In the NFL, as you may know, we are five days away from the first Super Bowl of the decade, and at that, a lot expected of this game. Also, ten days away from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. These are the up-coming crowd pleasers, till then, signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR see ya then.

Today, the lakers were not the only ones to pull off a shocking win, so, did the Phoenix Suns. Just minutes ago, after a roller-coaster game of back and forth leads, Phoenix finally pulled off an overtime four-point win 115-111.
After leading in points-per-quarter for the first and second quarter, and trailing in that category in the third and fourth quarter, the Suns were finally able to pull off the shocking overtime win in Houston.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, and remember, always stay inbounds!
So, in total summary of the 2010 pro bowl, the AFC took a 41-34 victory over the NFC.
This game was a somewhat comical game, as ESPN used very good soundbites of the main playmakers, such as Ray Lewis, Tony Romo and others.
These soundbites showed very good views of the average football players personality.
So that's the highlights of tonight's phenomenal performances in the 2010 pro bowl.

Vince Young starts the final quarter with a deep pass to Chad OchoCinco, as it goes in and out of his hands.
Two plays later, the ball is picked off by Asante Samuel near his own end zone and returns it near the 40 yard-line of his team. The ball goes back to Romo and his team.
Due to good runs and penalties Romo takes the NFC to a tie at 34-34 due to a dropped pass in the end zone by Witten of the Cowboys and a sack inflicted to Romo by Mario Williams.
Cribbs returns the ball to the 24 out of the end zone.
Small plays using a variety of players bring up many first downs.
Chris Johnson takes a chunk of yards for a first down to the 20 yard line.
Schaub then hooks up with Gates for another big first-down only to lead up to the run of Chris Johnson into the end zone for another AFC touchdown. AFC then up by seven.
Cowboys get the ball at the 24 yard line.
Romo slowly moves the chains using Miles Austin and Jason Witten.
But it doesn't pay off as the ball is intercepted by Harrison of the steelers to bring the clock down to the two minute warning.
Matt Schaub takes over for Vince Young to try and end the 2010 pro bowl.
A later on measurement shows fourth down and 1. The AFC team goes for it, and gets it. And two knees will end the 2010 pro bowl. Leaving the NFC in the dust with a 41-34 victory in the AFC's favor.
Matt Schaub, the 2010 pro bowl MVP.
To start the second half, Carpenter of the Dolphins kicks to rookie Johnny Knox, who carries it to the 37 of the NFC.
Then right off the first pass Desean Jackson runs it for 58 yards to take to the end zone, as Donovan Mcnab dances to the beat over a 24-17 lead in NFC's favor.
But then one of the best kick returners this sport has seen, Joshua Cribbs takes a nice run to the 47 of AFC. Then Garrard of the Jaguars, throws to the Chargers' Vincent Jackson for a 53 yard touchdown run, once again, taking the game to a tie.
On the next drive, of the NFC offense turns the ball over to Brian Dawkins of the Denver Broncos, this time no penalty on the play putting the ball in NFC territory.
AFC goes for a couple of touchdown passes, they don't succed, decide to keep the ball on the ground, get a penalty and eventually get the ball to the end zone through Maurice Jones-Drew, putting the score in AFC's favor by seven.
Later on, Garrard and his team get the ball back, moving the chains yard-by-yard to eventually settle for another field goal by Dan Carpenter of the AFC. Next up, Tony Romo will play for the first time of the night starting at his own 20 yard line.
After a series of first-downs, Romo finally capitalizes on his first drive with Diangelo Williams. This drive cutting it to a 3 point game. 1:30 in the third to go.
Joshua Cribbs ends up running the return to the 40 yard line. Vince Young takes his position on the field as QB, as they put an end to the third quarter.nflprobowl0201 2_GM313FCD0.1+Pro Bowl Football.embedded.prod_affiliate.156.jpg
NFC starts with the football in the second quarter, coming in with a few clean first downs.
Within four minutes of the 2nd quarter, NFC takes the lead adding another touchdown using Eagles Desean Jackson this time, making it 17-14, now in favor of NFC.
To start off AFC's first drive of the second quarter, Vince Young comes in leading his team to an impressive drive, getting very close to the end zone but unable to capitalize as they are forced to settle for a field goal, helping to still tie the game at 17.
Lamar Woodson of the Pittsburg Steelers intercepts the ball off of a Mcnab's throw taking it to the end zone only for the referees to rule it coming back due to 12 men on the field. A shame for the AFC defense.
Later, NFC goes for the first on fourth and 3 only to come up short, and turn the ball over to the so-far successful AFC offense, inside the two-minute warning of the first half.
Of course, once again the NFC defense picks up the pace, as the AFC would also fail at converting on 4th down, and 8 giving the ball back to Mcnab and his powerful offense with just over a minute in the half only to once again punt the ball to Joshua Cribbs for a large gain into NFC territory to bring up the first missed field goal of the night, to end the half at 17 a piece.

Alright, so in case your missing the pro bowl, here are the updates for the 1st quarter.
The first possession goes to AFC, starting off with quarterback Matt Schaub with Titan's running back Chris Johnson in the backfield and a good starting lineup of wide receivers including Andre Johnson who would end up making a big play later.
The drive started off with a few 12 and 13 yard gains courtesy of Chris Johnson.
A few small plays, then, Schaub of the Texans calls the play bringing up the long throw to Andre Johnson, punching in seven for the AFC.
NFC comes back hungry offensively, putting in some strong gains, only to finish with 3.
With Schaub and his teammates maintaining the lead, the AFC is still out for blood as they take 7 more out of the NFC defense.
Still, this is only the first quarter, which Aaron Rogers and company obviously realize as they come back with 7 in the bottom half of the first quarter.
The defense picks it up a notch, as the 1st quarter ends 14-10 in favor of the red.
Sorry guys, I forgot to ask you, who do you think will be the main playmakers of the pro bowl? The main wides, running-backs, corners, and Linebackers.
Post your answers, and if enough post back to me, I will tell you the unanimous for those positions.
So post me your answers sometime before the pro bowl.
Now, over to an intense basketball game, where the Lakers and Celtics are cutting it very close at a one point game in the Lakers favor, and now the ball will go over to the Celtics, with 7.3 seconds remaining in the game. It's a nail-biter, and any true basketball fan should be watching this game.
Ray Allen takes the jumper!
And... it's no good the lakers are going home with yet another fourth quarter comeback under their belts.
Come back to this sight at 7:30 to get live reviews and summaries of the pro bowl.
Signing off for now, I'm Sportsmaster JR, remember, always stay Inbounds!

On this blog, I will be talking about all the major sports, just in case you missed your major games. Sports such as football, soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball and even hockey.
So, here I go.
Earlier in the morning, the world famous Roger Federer of Switzerland, won the first major of the year: The Australian Open. Federer took his 16th major title over Andy Murray in straight sets 6-3 6-4 7-6 (11) helping to extend his record over Pete Sampras by two titles.
Still, Murray didn't go out without a fight, making the final set tie-break, one to remember.
Now, onto football!
Tonight at 7:30 Eastern, the pro bowl that has been hosting quite a lot a controversy thanks to the new format (one week before the super bowl and in the same location) will take flight with an unpredictable amount of viewers. Hopefully, this will be a good game, and one to remember. Please comment on what you think the outcomes will be of this pro bowl.
In other news, the winter ex-games is taking place, but, unfortunately, I may not be the best source of information for these updates, but, if you like hard-core snowboarding, go to ESPN on your TV and check it out now.
